Teekay Tankers Ltd. (Teekay) is excited to announce a new partnership with JiBe to implement its ERP system across Teekay's fleet. Teekay’s selection of Jibe will bring fleet management within one integrated system; streamline integration, analytics and support complexity; and reduce administrative burden. This collaboration represents a significant milestone for JiBe, as in addition to Jibe’s suite of ERP software, Teekay will also be among the first clients to deploy JiBe’s UpWind and Yamba.ai AI platforms.
Developed over the past five years by Jibe, these AI solutions deliver real-time insights directly to decision-making points. Known for its forward-thinking approach and readiness to embrace innovation, Teekay is poised to leverage the full potential of Jibe’s platform.
“One of the key factors in our selection of Jibe was its significant technological advantage,” said Teekay CIO, Mr. Jamus Spink. “This advantage was evident in two key areas: first, all Jibe customers operate on a single-version platform, and second, its advanced AI and big data capabilities, delivered through the UpWind and Yamba.AI platforms. Transitioning to a modern, single-version cloud platform eliminates the costly, time-consuming customizations that have previously hindered our ability to upgrade and seize innovation opportunities.”
“Teekay is an important addition to JiBe’s unique client base.” Said Yariv Zghoul, CEO of JiBe. “With the recent go-live of Eastern Pacific and Seaspan, who started their implementations last year, and with a number of leading clients including Anglo Eastern, OSG, and others, JiBe now has a fleet of nearly 2000 ships running on a single version of its ERP. The market seems to be understanding that customer-specific versions will not enable the use of AI models in a scalable way, this essentially means the investment in the wrong ERP may end up a lot more painful that initially thought.”
“We believe that the impact of AI and Big data in ship management will be significant. The focus of our selection process was to evaluate which vendor solution would best support Teekay’s focus on safety, people, and operational reliability. In that selection process Jibe stood out as an innovation partner ready to enable us to streamline and simplify our existing ship management through a single, integrated ERP platform, as well as take advantage of new AI functions in the future.” said Mr. Spink.
The integration of AI for data-driven decision-making stands to revolutionize industries and has particularly high potential in shipping. By leveraging advanced AI models, companies may predict potential incidents or observations or defects, optimize maintenance schedules, identify if jobs were done properly and more. This approach not only enhances operational efficiency but also significantly reduces the workload for crew and office staff. This holistic integration ensures that every aspect of vessel operations is monitored and optimized, leading to safer and more efficient maritime operations.
